Shows, Saturdays, and Sundays to come

Last night I went to a show and I stayed out so late. It was really fun (it doesn't hurt that I have a mondo crush on the trumpet player of the band I saw) but then I had to wake up for work in the morning.

I can not believe that people do this going out and staying up until the wee hours of the morning all of the time before they go to work. That is crazy talk to me. I took a 2.5 hour nap this afternoon. Yeesh. I still feel like I'm not going to make it until bed time :).

On the up side, I am totally going to serve tomorrow, on Mother's Day. And that's pretty rad. It's going to be so much more fun than hosting plus more money.

evening activities

You know, I am actually starting to love my job.

The two biggest reasons (besides actually working) that I'm so happy with it are as follows: Every day, I'm done by4 at the very, very latest and sometimes I'm done as early as 2. I'm pretty happy with most of the people that I interact with at work these days.

This early end time though is really my favorite thing. The reason being that I still have time after work to chill for a minute before I get into anything else and I don't get so worn out that I don't enjoy participating in evening activities.

This week, for instance, I've done something fun on every night. Sunday I went to a house show at which my friend's band was playing. Monday, my roomie had a bunch of people over for his birthday and I celebrated with them. Tuesday, I went out to get cheap brews and hang out with my friend Marika, and Wednesday I went climbing with my roomie Sean. It's only Thursday, and I feel like I've done as much as I would do in a usual week. Tonight, I'm taking off but Friday there's another show which I should be able to go to for free. We'll see how that turns out.

two week countdown

I looked at the month's weather forecast today.

I know that's a silly thing to do since it probably isn't going to be at all accurate. But, I have decided that two weeks from today it's going to be consistently warm. So, I am going to make my work pants into cutoff shorts and my nice pants into work pants. I'm going to welcome summer into Portland with some sweet new duds. I'm pretty excited for this to happen. I do have a backup pair of non work pants just in case the weather runs amok again. It's always good to have a backup plan.

Other than that, my friend, Jamie, who has been considering visiting me for a bit has jumped over the last hurdle of deliberation and is going to come visit me in June shortly after I get back from family vacation. I'm pretty excited about both the family vacation and having a visitor (a cute one at that).

Tonight is cheap brews with friends. Hope you all are having a swell evening.
