On the Upswing

Things are looking up for the first couple of days that I'm gonna be in town for Portland. Remember when I was freaking out because nothing is going according to plan and I was spending tons of money on credit card mistakes etc? Remember the beginning of the week when I thought I was going to be homeless when I moved to a city where I know absolutely no one?

Well things are definitely on their way to being better. Turns out, my sister has a friend that just moved to Portland that I could, possibly, stay with once she asks him, I've found some fairly affordable hotels, and I am still trying to couch surf if at all possible. See how much better things are?

Other than that I've visiting with both my sisters in Charleston, SC. I'm saying my goodbyes to the east coast and my family for a time and it's been a pretty good, if really hot, time so far.

to the bright and wonderful adventure that tomorrow could be.

Saying Goodbyes

Over the past week or two I've been saying my goodbyes. Here are some pictures of the people I love in some of the last moments that I see them before this terrifying adventure begins.

Under pressure

A week ago something big happened.
For the first time in over a year my parents accepted that I was actually moving to Portland. Before that point things were a breeze. Since that point the pressure has been mounted on my shoulders. It's getting bad. I'll share with you a short list.

Things that have gone very very wrong in past 2 days.
1. Failed going away party. Nobody came to my party. Except a few. A few that count.

2. Learned that my bank refused to pay my credit card bill even though I had more than enough money. I was charged an extra $35 for the inconvenience to the Credit card company. And I still don't know if my bank is going to pay the bill this time around.

3. Tried to book a Hostel today only to find that the first 2 days that I am in Portland there are no rooms available.

Lets hope things straighten out so that I am not homeless when I get to Portland and I have decent credit in the future.

My plans are so far: to learn to couch surf and fight the credit card company on this.

Looking forward to a brighter tomorrow.

Happy Adventures!
